SCAVENGING, WATERING,
AND
REMOVAL OF DUST DEPARTMENT
The removal of Roads sweepings with the Vestry' horses and carta, was
commenced on the 29th September last, and although the season was
exceptionally severe one, the work was performed in a most satisfactos
manner. The quantity of road sweepings removed to the Newington Dep
for the six months ending the 25th March last, was 6700 cubic Yards.
The watering of the roads for the past year, was performed in a bett
manner than heretofore, when the Contractor horsed the vans. Comp
ratively lew complaints us to the neglect of watering, have been made,
compared with preceding years
The removal of dust has been carried out in the most systematic mann???
and I think to the satisfaction of the ratepayers. The quantity of ???
ashes and fish offal removed to the Newington Depot, lor the past yea
was Dust 20400 cubic yards, Fish Offal 1222 loads.

Urinals cleansed daily The Urinal by the Elephant and Castle, St. George
Road, is iu a very dilapidated state, and should be replaced with a new of
