At a meeting of the Vestry held on the 7th February, 1893, the Clerk reported the d cease
on the 25th January, of Mr. John Thomas Cooper, the Assistant Clerk of the Vestry.
Upon the motion of Mr. Stuart, an unanimous Resolution was passed, conveying the
Vestry's deep sympathy and condolence to his widow.
Mr. Cooper had been in the service of the Vestry for but two years, having been appointed
Assistant Clerk on the 24th March, 1891.
The Vestry having caused advertisements to be issued for the appointment of an Assistant
Clerk in the place of the late Mr. Cooper, a number of applications were received and considered;
and ultimately Mr. James Day, the Junior Assistant Clerk, was appointed. Mr. Reuben J.
Walker was afterwards promoted to the position made vacant by Mr. Day's appointment.
