£546 has been paid off the Loan of £2,100, borrowed in August, 1880, of the late
Metropolitan Board of Works, towards defraying the expenses of the purchase of the ground for
the improvement of Rotherhithe Street at the Gas Works and at Carolina Wharf, leaving £1554
to be repaid by thirty-seven instalments of £42 each on the first day of October in each year,
with interest at the rate of £3 15s. per cent. per annum.
£1,100 has been paid off the Loan of £2,000, borrowed in November, 1881, of the late
Metropolitan Board of Works, towards defraying the expense of paving the Carriageway and
Footways, Rotherhithe Street, at the Gas Works and Carolina Wharf, leaving £900, to be repaid
by nine instalments of £100 on the 31st day of October in each year, with interest at the rate of
£3 15s. per cent. per annum.
£810 has been paid off the Loan of £1,800, borrowed in November, 1883, of the late
Metropolitan Board of Works, towards defraying the expenses of paving Commercial Dock
Road, from the Engineer's office, Surrey Commercial Docks, to the east corner of Elgar
Street, leaving £990, to be repaid by eleven annual instalments of £90 on the 1st day of October,
with interest at the rate of £3 10s. per cent. per annum.
£63 has been paid off the Loan of £250, borrowed in July, 1885, of the late Metropolitan
Board of Works, towards defraying a portion of the expense of the purchase of the house
No. 69, Abbey field Road, for the formation on the site thereof of a Passageway from the said
Abbey field Road to the wicket gate entrance to South wark Park in Dilston Grove, leaving £187,
to be repaid by twenty-three instalments, (three of £9 and twenty of £8 each,) on the 1st day
of April in each year, with interest at the rate of £3 10s. per cent. per annum.
£1,200 has been paid off the Loan of £4,000, borrowed in October, 1886, of the late
Metropolitan Board of Works, towards defraying the expense of paving the Carriageway,
Rotherhithe New Road, from Bush Road, westward to the Viaduct of the South Eastern
Railway; also the Carriageway of Raymouth Road, leaving £2,800, to be repaid by fourteen
instalments of £200 each on the 31st day of July in each year, and interest at the rate of
£3 10s. per cent. per annum, payable quarterly.
