A length of 622 feet, of 3 feet by 2 feet brick sewer, and 612 feet of pipe sewer, has been
executed in Church-street, from the entrance to Deptford Lower-road to Tunnel-square, also
in connection therewith a length of 400 feet of 15-inch pipe, has been laid through the rear
of the houses on the east side of Clark's Orchard, at a total cost of £873 0s. 1d., and the old
high level sewer, of a length of 750 feet in Church-street, and 400 feet in Clark's Orchard,
have been respectively broken up and filled in.
The Vestry arranged with the Vestry of Bermondsey, that upon the execution by that
Vestry of a sewer 3 feet 9 inches by 2 feet G inches along the Manor-road, with all necessary
side entrances and road-gullies, for the purposes of the parishes of Bermondsey and Rotherhithe
jointly, this Vestry would contribute the sum of £450 towards the cost of the sewer, and
the works are now in progress.
The Vestry have memorialized the Metropolitan Board of Works to cover over the open portion
of the Earl sewer skirting this parish, in order to abate the nuisance arising therefrom,
and the Vestry have since been informed that steps will be shortly taken by that Board for
improving the said sewer.

The following works have been done with new and old stone.
New Granite carriage-way 121 tons.
Old carriage-way relaid 2000 yards.

New Granite Kerbing 12 by 7 9739 feet run.

The following materials have been used in the reparation of the roads, footpaths, &c:—
Guernsey Granite 270 tons.

Foundry Clinkers 293 „
A loan of £2000 having been obtained in August last from Mr. J. W. Barrett, for the
purpose of kerbing the footpaths in the parish, the work is being proceeded with under the
supervision of the Surveyor of Pavements, and 5394 feet run of the kerb has been laid along
the Deptford Lower-road, and the Plough-road.
