XVIII—The Work of the Year.
Exceptional activity has marked the past twelve
months, owing to the heavy work entailed by the
recent Local Enquiries under the London Government
Act. Much extra labour has been rendered
necessary in the preparation of returns, maps, and
evidence required by the Privy Council and the
Commissioners under the Act.
