Junction Place.—Combined drainage. No intercepting
syphon. Other sanitary arrangements satisfactory.
Constant water supply.
Hormead Road.—Water test. Drain defective.
Soil-pipe serves as rain-water pipe. Other sanitary
arrangements satisfactory. One water supply.
Maida Vale.—Ground opened. Drain defective.
Joints open. No intercepting syphon. W.C. on
second floor a "short-hopper" and W.C. in yard a
"long-hopper," both with water-waste preventers.

In London there were 219 deaths, equivalent to
an annual rate of 0.20 per 1,000 inhabitants.
Diarrhœa caused 60 deaths, as compared with 59
in the corresponding quarter of last year—equivalent
to an annual death rate of 2.0 per 1,000 inhabitants.
50 of the deaths occurred in St. Mary's and 10 in
St. John's Sub-district.
In London there were 2,186 deaths, equivalent to
an annual rate of 2.03 per 1,000 inhabitants.
