REPORT, 1892-93.

Gentlemen's
ist Class
Swimming
Bath
Painted.
The Gentlemen's First Class Swimming Bath was
painted and completely repaired, including the Roof,
in March, 1893, at a cost of £140.
Gallery,
Ladies'
Swimming
Bath.
The Gallery erected in the Ladies' Bath last year, is
fulfilling the expectations of the Commissioners, it being
a source of comfort alike to Bathers and Visitors.
Heating
Baths by
Steam.
The laying down of three New Boilers in 1892, has
enabled the Commissioners to carry out the Scheme
mentioned in the last Report, of heating the First Class
Swimming Bath, as also the Ladies' Swimming Bath, by
means of Steam Injectors instead of Hot Water. This
has already resulted in an economy of fuel.
Drying by
Steam
Pipes.
The arrangements for drying the clothes, towels, &c.,
in the Washhouses being in an advanced state of disrepair,
the Commissioners are considering the question of introducing
steam pipes in the drying-closets in lieu of the
present system, which will no doubt effect a considerable
saving in the Coke Account.
Electric
Lighting.
The Lighting of the Large Hall and some other parts
of the Building by the Electric Light is in contemplation,
and it is hoped before next winter this will have been
effected.
Heating
by
Hot Air.
The Heating of all the Baths by Hot Air is also under
consideration, the constant complaints during the winter
of Bathers and those using the Large Hall, making this
desirable improvement absolutely necessary.
Board
School
Children.
The Commissioners have made arrangements for
Board Schoolchildren to attend the 3rd Class Swimming
Baths at id. per head. The Children to provide their
own towels and bathing dresses.
