Notes.
1. Population at Census, 1881, 107,218.
2. Area in Acres, 1,280.
3. Average No. of Persons in each House at Census, 1881, 8.1.
*For statistical purposes The Registrar-General estimates the population to
the middle of the year on the basis of the rate of increase ruling between the two
preceding Census periods. The estimate of population may be checked by the
known number of inhabited houses, and by the average number of inmates per
house, as ascertained at the preceding Census.
**The deaths of non-parishioners in public institutions within the parish
should be deducted, but a proportion of the deaths occurring in General Hospitals,
relative to the population of the parish or district, should be added to the total
number of deaths in this column.
