Parochial Accounts, and of presenting the same to
the Vestry. In February last a Report dealing with
the
General Banking Account;
Highway and Works Department Banking
Accounts;
Making and Collection of Rates;
The Vestry Accounts of the several Departments;
and other matters,
was submitted to the Vestry. On 2nd April, 1889,
the Vestry postponed the consideration of this
Report until the first Vestry Meeting in October
next.
XXXIII. Registration Acts.
Several persons having failed to furnish returns
of Inhabitant Occupiers as required by these Acts,
the Solicitor, on the 20th November last, was
instructed to take proceedings, in a test case, for
non-compliance with the provisions of the Acts.
A summons was accordingly taken out, but the
service of the notice at the Office of the Defendant
by the Collector was held not to be good. The
summons was withdrawn, but the Defendant undertook
to fill up the forms in future.
XXXIV. Meetings of the Vestry and its
Committees.
During the year ending March 25th, 1889,
33 Meetings of the Vestry have been held.
