METEOROLOGY.
Mr. James Glaisher, F.R.S., in his report to the RegistrarGeneral,
remarks that the weather in April was very cold and
dry. The temperature of the air was every day throughout the
month, with the exception of four days, below the average.
In May the weather was generally cold and unseasonable.
The temperature, with the exception of five days, was constantly
below the average.
In June the weather was very fine and dry. From the Gth
to the 20th the days were hot. During the few first and last
days of the month the temperature was rather low.
The rainfall, which was in each month of the quarter below
the average, measured 4.49 inches.
