Materials abstracted. — The following miscellaneous
materials were abstracted from the beforementioned
loads of rough dust:—
15,798 chaldrons of ashes.
7,335 chaldrons of breeze.
189 boat loads, or 3,243
tons of soft core.
293 cart loads and 9 boat
loads of hard core,
or about 500 tons.
15 tons of coals.

Expenses of Removal.—The expenses attending the removal and unloading at the shoots at Alperton and Drayton being as follows:—

Slopping, collecting, —As described in previous
Reports, nearly all the sweepings, slop, and snow has
been brought to the Depot. During the year 26,594
loads were collected by 7,973 horses and carts, working
308 days, giving an average of 86.34 loads per day,
or 3.33 loads per horse per day; the maximum number
brought to the wharves in one week being 751,
and the minimum 182 loads; the expenses being as
follows:—
