months the Company were served with 193 notices for
the rectification of defective services, &c.
Damage to Lamp-posts.—During the year, either
through carelessness or accident, there were 10 lampposts
knocked down, 21 lamp columns broken, and 28
head irons and lanterns damaged by various parties.
In 18 cases the delinquents escaped detection, and in
41 instances they were detected and charged the cost
of the damage, the work being executed by the
Vestry's own staff of Workmen.
