VESTRY OF PADDINGTON.
Surveyor's Department,
Vestry Hall ;
29th June, 1878.
Gentlemen,
I beg to submit this, my Annual Report, in
reference to the chief works executed, and the various
business transactions in this Department, during the
year ended Lady-day, 1878.
Highways.
The removal of a house, and shortening the forecourts
in front of several adjoining houses on the South
side of Moscow Road, near the Queen's Road, at the
cost of the Vestry and the Metropolitan Board of Works,
have been the means of widening the Carriage-way and
Foot-paths there.
At the western end of South Wharf Road, the
macadamized roadway has been removed, and new
granite cube paving substituted; thereby reducing the
quantity of mud and dirt, and effecting a sanitary
improvement there.
