VESTRY OF PADDINGTON.
Surveyor's Department,
Vestry Hall;
30th June, 1879.
Gentlemen,
I beg to submit my Annual Report of the
chief works executed, and the various business transactions
in this Department, during the year ended
Lady-day, 1879, namely:—
Highways.
The removal of the macadamized Roadways and
substitution by wood blocks on a concrete foundation
in Westbourne Grove and a portion of South wick
Street, have produced a marked improvement in the
cleanliness of those thoroughfares by the absence of
pulverized Granite and consequent reduction of mud
and dirt.
The cost of the concrete and wood pavement in
Westbourne Grove is £2,581 17s. 5d., and in Southwick
Street £478 12s. l0d.
