NOTES.
1. Population at Census 1871—96,813.
2. Area in acres.—1,280.
3: Average No. of Persons in each house at Census 1871—8.1.
For statistical purposes the Registrar-General estimates the
population to the middle of the year on the basis of the rate of
increase ruling between the two preceding Census periods. The
estimate of population may be checked by the known number of
inhabited houses, and by the average number of inmates per house, as
ascertained at the preceding Census.
The deaths of non-parishioners in public institutions within the
parish are deducted for the year 1875; but not so for the previous
years.
