During the last quarter of 13 weeks, ending Saturday
March 30th, 448 deaths were registered in the Parish, being 100
less than the corresponding quarter of 1871, and lower than any
three previous years. The births during the quarter were 767,
being 319 in excess of the deaths.
The deaths are at the rate of 18 per 1000 of the population,
and the births at 30.8 per 1000.
Of Zymotic diseases 47 deaths are recorded, the corresponding
quarter of previous years were 89 in 1868; 61 in 1869;
