The estimated value of the above-mentioned
Sewers, together with 5 miles 977 yards run of
drain pipes laid down, is about £9248.
One mile fifteen hundred and eighty yards of
Brick Sewers, in which the deposit varied from
six to nine inches in depth, have been cleansed
and the hard deposit removed, at a cost to the
Vestry of £69: 13:5.
Twelve side entrances, Thirty Ventilating
Shafts, one Flushing Shaft, and sixty-four Gulleys,
have been constructed, and fifty-nine Gulleys
repaired in various parts of the Parish.
One hundred and sixty Gulleys have been
cleansed, at a cost to the Vestry of £18: 8.
Eight hundred and six distinct Works relative
to the repair of Sewers and Gulleys, laying Pipe
Drains, fixing Traps, &c., have been executed, at
a cost of £1008: 4: 7. This amount includes the
sum of £494: 12: 8 received from Owners of
Property, for fixing Traps at outlets of existing
drains, constructing Gulleys, and laying Pipes
under Streets.
In addition to the foregoing details, two hundred
and twenty-one complaints have been attended to,
chiefly with reference to Sewers, Gulleys, Drains
and Pavements.
