The following Works have also been executed by the Contractor
of the Board, viz.:—
95 feet of 12-in. pipe sewer cleansed.
3 New Gullies constructed in Shadwell.
9 Gullies altered and repaired.
10 New Gully Grates supplied and fixed.
1 New side entrance flap ditto.
2 Urinals repaired.
9 Meter Boxes fixed.
6 Flushing Boxes fixed.
13 Gullies raised.
2 Gullies connected with Sewer.
2 Gridirons fixed.
2 Block traps fixed.
1 Manhole repaired.
2 Gully Bends fixed.
1 Air shaft fixed.
1 Ventilator repaired.
2 6-in. Traps fixed in Urinals.
The Contractors of the Metropolitan Board of Works for the
construction of the New Storm Relief Sewer discharging into the River
near Ratcliff Cross, have laid 70 feet of 18-in. Pipe Sewer in London
Street, Ratcliff, in lieu of part of the old brick sewer which was
damaged by them in the construction of the works. As the old sewer
was in a defective state, the District Board agreed to pay the prime cost
of the pipes upon condition that the Contractors carried out the
work in all other respects to my satisfaction at their own cost.
HOUSE DRAINAGE.
99 dwelling houses (including 50 new houses and other buildings)
have been connected with the Sewers, and the following
works executed in connexion therewith, viz.:—
