Possession has been obtained of the whole of the premises In
the rear belonging to 28 and 30, Three Colt Street.
Arrangements have been made with the Freeholder as to the
premises in Church Lane, at the corner of Northey Street, for the
Board to take a Conveyance of so much of the ground as is required
for the Improvement. Mr. Parsons previously to pull down
and rebuild the house to the new line of frontage, and to enclose
the ground with a brick wall at his own expense.
Shadwell (Sun Tavern Gap) Improvement.—A Precept
has been issued to the Sheriff of Middlesex to summon a Jury to
assess the amount of compensation to be paid to the Trustees of
the Charity of John Carr, deceased, for their interest in the plot of
ground situate in Sun Tavern Fields, part of the Almshouses, and
the amount of the verdict has been paid into Court.
Negotiations have been concluded with the following persons
interested in premises required for this Improvement, viz.:—The
Leaseholder of Nos. 428 and 430, Cable Street; Hammack's
Trustees in respect of property at the South end of Sun Tavern
Gap.
Tenders have been received for the Iron work of the Bridge
to be constructed over the Rope Ground, and the tender of the
Horseley Company has been accepted.
Shadwell (New Crane) Improvement.—The piece of
surplus land in New Gravel Lane has been let on lease to the
Ratcliff Gas Company. The Company to have the right to purchase
the Freehold, upon certain terms, when the new building
shall have been erected to the satisfaction of the Surveyor of the
Board ; the Board also consenting to assist in the permanent stopping
up of Green Dragon Alley.
