factory, and that the Bill should not be passed unless power

SOUTH EASTERN AND LONDON, CHATHAM AND
DOVER RAILWAYS (New Railways and
Widenings) BILL, 1899.
The Board considered the plans and notices given by
the South Eastern and London, Chatham and Dover Railway
Company in respect of their new Railways and Widenings
Bill, as deposited at the Board's Office on the 30th
November last.
The Company proposed to widen the North Kent Railway
between Ravensbourne-street and the road to Claremontterrace,
near Lewisham Junction Station, and to acquire
additional land. They also proposed to widen the railway
over Ravensbourne-street in the Greenwich District, and
over the occupation road leading out of Thurston-road.
The Board were of opinion that the scheme should be
opposed unless the necessary clauses and amendments were
inserted in the Bill for the protection of the Hoard in relation
to the roads and other matters under their control.
It was found unnecessary to take steps for opposing the
Bill, as the only question of importance in it was that relating
to the old bridge carrying the railway over Thurstonroad,
which the Board considered should be widened; but
as the road at this point was in the Greenwich District the
Board felt that they could not successfully oppose the Bill,
with a view to the widening of the bridge; they, however,
ascertained that the Greenwich District Board were dealing
with the matter, and they had no doubt a satisfactory arrangement
as to the bridge would be arrived at.
