1st January, 1892. The Bill, as a consolidating and amending
measure, was under the consideration of the Board in
the previous year. In April copies of the Bill were duly
furnished to the Members for consideration, and the subject
was referred to the Works and General Purposes Committeo
for their consideration at a special meeting to be convened
for the porpose. Considerable objection was taken to the
Bill in the form in which it was originally proposed, and it
was amended and modified before it became law.
On the 28th October, 1891, the following resolution was
passed by the Board (28 Oct., p. 204, par. 10):—

Committee to consider the provisions of the Public
Health (London) Act, 1891, and the duties and obligations
of the Board thereunder, and to report thereon to
the Board, and also to report on the steps to be taken for
giving effect to the Act in the District.

on the 17th February, 1892.
The necessary steps were taken for giving effect to the
proposals and directions contained in the report.

Government Board, in connection with the Bye-laws to be
made by the other Sanitary Authorities in the Metropolis.
As there appeared some little delay in dealing with these
Bye-laws the Board, on the 5th May, wrote to the Local
Government Board on the subject, and asking whether the
draft amendments suggested by this Board had met with
their approval, in which case this Board would at once take
the necessary steps with a view to obtaining the due
approval of the Bye-laws before July, 1892. The Local
Government Board replied (13th May) that they had deferred
