In Lewisham there were 5117 superficial yards of path
re-laid, and in Penge 4270 superficial yards, and many of the
paths throughout the District were painted.
ROAD IMPROVEMENTS.
The Table below will give the Improvements proposed, and
those carried out during the year:—

Reconstruction and widening Bridge north of Forest Hill Railway Station &c.In hand.
Widening Catford Hill Road along Major Forster's EstateCompleted.

By far the most important Improvement commenced during
the year was the Widening of the Bridge north of Forest Hill
Railway Station. The old Bridge was only 19ft. 3in. span, the
new Bridge will be 50 feet span. There can be no doubt when
the work is completed the widened road will be a great improvement.
