Half-a-dozen of Skelton's Catoptric Reflectors were fixed to
the lamps in Lewisham by way of experiment; but I cannot report
very favourably upon them. No doubt they arc an improvement,
but I do not consider of sufficient extent to warrant their being
introduced throughout the district. I received instruction to
fix 10 meters to lamps in the district of the Crystal Palace District
Gas Company, 10 being already fixed in the Phoenix Gas Company's
District. The subject of consumption of gas is still under the
consideration of the Works and General Purposes Committee ;
therefore it is not necessary for me to make any mention of such
in this Report.
The following Table will give the cost of the Lighting
throughout the District during the year.
