The clothing of the children remains the same, or nearly
the same, all the year round, and the amount of exercise is
altogether insufficient.
It is to be regretted that the Board of Management did
not attend to repeated suggestions for the remedy of these
important matters.
The children of the establishment (the boys more
especially) have the stunted growth and peculiar expression
of the class from which they are taken, and present a marked
difference from the boys in course of training in H.M.S.
Goliath, in whom, although taken from the same class, their
physical peculiarities, under the influence of training and
exercise, soon disappear.
