The Gas supplied by the Gas Light and Coke Company and by the Crystal Palace District Gas Company has been regularly tested by the Medical Officer, and the following is a summary of the Lighting Committee's Reports to the Vestry:—

The average Illuminating Power of the Gas supplied by
the South Metropolitan Company, as tested at the various
Testing Stations during the year ending 26th March, 1888,
was shown to be above the Parliamentary Standard of 16
Candles.
