LIGHTING.
During the year ending 25th March, 1889, there have been
erected 67 ordinary Column Lamps and 4 Bracket Lamps,
7 Column Lamps have been discontinued, and 78 Column
Lamps and 1 Bracket Lamp shifted to positions of greater
utility, whilst in three cases Brackets have been replaced by
Columns.
In Norwood Road at the corner of Cemetery Road the
ordinary Lamp has been replaced by a more powerful Lamp
with reflecting top, and at the junction of the Chatsworth
Road and Idmiston Road a similar improvement has been
made.

The following are particulars of the Lamps lighted and maintained at the expense of the Vestry on the 25th March, 1889.

The total cost of lighting, cleaning and maintaining, including
new columns and lanterns, removals and sundry expenses,
amounted to £13,707 1s. 9d.
