THE BIRTH RATE.
The number of births registered in Lambeth during the
year 1887 having reached a total of 9110 cases are 63 in
excess of the number registered in the previous year.
The registered number of male children exceeds by 288
that of the female. During the same period in the entire
Metropolitan area 133,075 births are recorded.

is 327 per 1000 inhabitants.
