Thirdly—The annual percentage of increase in London, as
a whole, applied by the Registrar General in the statistics of
the Metropolis, is the alternative basis, and has much in its
favour. Hereinafter in this Report the statistics of Lambeth
will be compared with those of the Metropolis, and it is fair
that they should be computed on the same fundamental
principle.
For the sake of accuracy, the deaths of Lambcthians
who died outside the Parish, namely, in the hospitals and
institutions, both Metropolitan and extra Metropolitan, are
included.
The deaths of non-parishioners are excluded.
