LIGHTING.
During the year ending 25th March, 1885, there have been
4 amps erected, and 39 removed to places of greater
tility.
The total number of ordinary street lamps lighted by the
estry at the present time is 3,853; there are also 15-burner,
3-burner, 22-burner lamps, and 7 single-flame lamps (each
nsuming 10 feet per hour); and the cost of lighting, including
ew columns, removal of lamps, and sundry expenses, amounted
£14,071 8s. 11d.
