XIII. notices of motion.
By Mr. Cushen.
(1) That in future the recommendations contained in the
Reports of every Committee, before presentation to the
Vestry, be printed, and a copy of such recommendations
be delivered to each member of the Vestry, at least
three clear days before the meeting of the Vestry, to
which the several Reports will be or are proposed to
be presented.
(2) That in future the Vestry's Minutes be printed, and a
copy sent to each member of the Vestry, at least three
clear days before the adjourned meeting of the Vestry.
By Mr. John Brown.
That this Vestry is of opinion that the present rating qualification
of £25 for Vestrymen, is unnecessary, and
operates most injuriously against the interests of the
Ratepayers, by greatly limiting the number of men
who are eligible for election. That this Vestry resolves
to petition Parliament to bring in a bill to enact that
all Ratepayers shall be eligible for election as Vestrymen,
and further, that Mr. Spencer Charrington, M.P.,
and Mr. Isaacson, M.P., be asked to do all in their
power to get this measure speedily passed into law.
By Mr. Richardson.
(1) To consider the wages paid to the "Sweepers" and to
move that their remuneration be increased.
(2) That contracts be given only to those firms who pay
the standard rate of wages, and that the sub-letting of
contracts be not allowed.
By Mr. John Brown.
That I will call attention to the imperfect character of the
recent Audit, and move a resolution thereon.
