12 JUNE, 1889.
That your Committee considered the amendment to their
Report adopted by your Board at your last meeting, to the
effect that in lieu of selling the Parish property, a lease at a
fair rental be granted to the present occupiers for 21 years.
That Mr. Rich, of the firm of Messrs. Wilkes & Rich, the
present tenants of the property, attended your Committee,
and offered to take a lease of the premises for 21 years on
similar conditions as the present lease at a rental of £25
per annum.
That your Committee considered the amount offered by
Mr. Rich was not sufficient, and after some discussion it was
agreed that the sum of £30 per annum would be a fair rental,
and your Committee accordingly recommend—
(1) That a lease for 21 years of the Parish property, corner
of Stepney Green, be granted to Messrs. Wilkes & Rich,
the present occupiers, at a rental of £30 per annum, on
similar terms and conditions as the former lease of the
premises.
(2) That the Churchwardens and Overseers be authorised
to grant a lease on behalf of the inhabitants, on the above
terms, the rent to be received from the property to be
applied in aid of the Poor Rate of the Hamlet.
