XVI. The Clerk submitted statutory notice of the London
Electric Supply Corporation of their intention to apply for
powers in this Hamlet, and also a notice from Messrs.
Deacon & Co., on behalf of the Company, stating that the
application would not be proceeded with.
Moved by Mr. J. D. Kemp seconded by Mr. Upton—
That the notices be received.
XVII. The Clerk submitted a circular letter dated 2nd December,
1889, from the Local Government Board on the subject
of the dwellings of the labouring classes in the Metropolis.
Moved by Mr. J. D. Kemp seconded by Mr. Upton and
resolved—That it be received.
XVIII. The Clerk submitted a letter from the Vestry of Fulham
on the subject of Mortuaries.
Moved by Mr. J. D. Kemp seconded by Mr. Upton and
resolved—That the letter be referred to No. 3 Committee for
consideration and report.
XIX. The Clerk read Report of the Medical Officer of Health
on the subject of the Houses Nos. 5 and 7, Yalford Street,
which are being dealt with under the Artizans and Labourers'
Dwellings' Act.
Moved by Mr. J. D. Kemp seconded by Mr. Henley and
resolved—That such further proceedings be taken as are
required by statute.
XX. The Clerk submitted Return of the Overseers as to the
expenditure of money, etc., in connection with the closing of
Brothels.
Moved by Mr. Cushen seconded by Mr. Bell and resolved—
That the Return be received with thanks.
XXI. The Clerk read a memorial of 18th inst. from Mr. A. Crabb,
and concurred in by several other persons, complaining of an
obstruction at No. 354, Commercial Road.
Resolved—That it be referred to No. 2 Committee for
consideration and report.
XXII. The Clerk read Memorial signed by twenty-six of the
Vestry's labourers, asking for an increase in their wages.
Moved by Mr. Coker seconded by Mr. Thomas and resolved
—That it be referred to No. 2 Committee for consideration
and report.
XXIII. The Clerk submitted letter from the Home Secretary,
acknowledging receipt of Resolution of the Vestry on the
subject of the condition of the Tower Hamlets' Cemetery.
