19 FEBRUARY, 1890.
Medical Officer of Health and Sanitary Inspectors, under the
"Sale of Horseflesh, etc., Regulation Act, 1889," your Committee
resolved to recommend—That your Medical Officer of
Health (Dr. Thomas Taylor), and Sanitary Inspectors
(Mr. Henry Leshaw and Mr. Charles Cox), be instructed to
act in cases under the " Sale of Horseflesh, etc., Regulation
Act, 1889."
(6) That at a previous meeting your Surveyor reported to your
Committee a difficulty had arisen in carrying out the orders of
the Metropolitan Board of Works, with regard to the reconstruction
of the sewer in the Commercial Road, and your
Committee directed your Surveyor to communicate with the
Engineer of the London County Council and the Surveyor of
St. George-in-the-East.
That your Surveyor subsequently reported that he had done
so, and that he had by request prepared a plan for the reconstruction
of the sewer in a way which would get over the
difficulty.
That a conference was held between your Committee and
the Sanitary Committee of St. George-in-the-East, when the
details of the scheme were discussed and agreed to, and it was
unanimously resolved—That a joint memorial should be
presented to the London County Council, praying that the
order of the Metropolitan Board of Works might be varied,
and that the works should be carried out according to the
scheme approved by the two Committees, and at the cost of
the London County Council.
Your Clerk was directed to prepare the memorial accordingly
and your Committee herewith submit the same for the seal of
the Vestry, and recommend—That the seal be affixed thereto.
