That your Medical Officer of Health brought up and read a
report for which your Committee beg to refer your Board to
his Report Book.
(2) That your Medical Officer reported as follows :
"During the three weeks ending December 21st the
"number of Births was 232 : the number of Deaths from
"all causes was 175, 36 occurring in the Western and 139
"in the Eastern district, giving a death-rate of 26'0 per
"annum. The death-rate for the Metropolis being 21-0
"for the same period."
and your Committee resolved to recommend— That the same
be received.
That your Sanitary Inspectors brought up and read Reports
for which your Committee beg to refer your Board to their
Report Books.
(3) That having regard to the Reports of your Medical Officer
and Sanitary Inspectors, your Committee resolved to
recommend—
That notices be served upon the owners of the following
houses and premises, requiring them to perform the following
works, viz.:
(a) No. 1, Eaton Place—
To disconnect the sink from the drain; properly trap the
same; remove the cause of dampness in cupboard where
sink is situated; provide proper ventilation to ground
floor room; provide separate water supply to closet; and
to properly close in the water closet from staircase.
(b) No. 2, Eaton Place—
The same orders as No. 1 with the exception of providing
water supply to closet.
(c) No. 3, Eaton Place—
Same orders as No. 1 entirely.
(d) No. 4, Eaton Place—
Cleanse downstairs room, and provide proper through ventilation
for same; disconnect sink from drain, and properly
trap same; remove cause of dampness to wall of the
cupboard; remove cause of dampness to staircase walls,
and cleanse same; cleanse W.C. and remove cause of
dampness; partition off entirely closet from staircase.
(e) No. 5, Eaton Place—
Same as No. 4 with the addition to provide a proper
separate water supply to the water closet.
(/) No. 6, Eaton Place—
Same as No. 4 with the addition to provide a proper
separate water supply to the water closet.
(g) No. 7, Eaton Place—
To provide proper ventilation to ground floor room; to
