The Chairman then submitted the motion by Mr. Brown
and there appeared

It was then resolved—That the ages of the persons to be
elected be fixed to be between 30 to 50.

Moved by Mr. Peacock seconded by Mr. Birks and resolved
—That the advertisement for candidates be issued in the East
London Observer, Eastern Post, and East London Advertiser
newspapers.
(4) printing of minutes.
Moved by Mr. Lacey seconded by Mr. Henley and resolved
—That that part of the Report be adopted and it was resolved
accordingly.
VII. The Report of Committee No. 2 was brought up as
follows:
To the Vestry of the Hamlet of Mile End Old Town.
Report of Committee No. 2.
For Highways, Paving, Lighting and Watering.
Wednesday, 6th November, 1889.
Your Committee beg to report that they met on Thurs- .
day, the 31st day of October ultimo, there being present
Messrs. Loftus, Hirst, J. Druitt, W. A. Kemp, and Ludbrook.
That your Surveyor brought up and read a Report for
which your Committee beg to refer your Board to his Report
Book.
(1) That your Committee considered a letter of the 23rd ultimo
from the London County Council, stating that application had
been made to that Council by Mr. G. Perry for permission to
form a street 20 feet wide, to lead out of Hannibal Road, and
the widening of Cressy Place and Little Union Court in connection
therewith as shown on accompanying plan, and your
Committee resolved to recommend—That the application be
opposed on the ground that the proposed width of the roadway
would be contrary to the Act of Parliament.
(2) That your Committee having surveyed the following places
resolved to recommend—That additional lamps be placed as
follows at an estimated cost of £3 10s. each :
(a) South side of Tredegar Square, one.
(b) Lichfield Road, one.
(c) Fair Street, one.
(d) King John Street, one.
(e) Allars Road, one.
(3) That a lantern with two lights be placed at the junction of
Oxford Street and Patterson Street the estimated cost being
₤2 15s.
(4) That your Committee resolved to recommend—That notices
be served upon the following persons, informing them that no
stalls or goods will in the future be allowed on the edge of

(6) Tenders from the following persons for the supply of Lime and Cement, were then opened as follows:
