9 OCTOBER, 1889. 43
houses situate at each end, which houses are not the subject
of other complaints in the said report.
Since the date of the report the 16th July last, a
number of houses adjoining the north side of the Court
have been removed and in my opinion has so materially
altered the circumstances as to remove this ground of
complaint.
If the said works be executed it will not in my opinion
be necessary to demolish the house in order to remove
the complaint contained in the report of the Medical
Officer of Health.
I am, Gentlemen,
Your obedient servant,
(Signed) JNO. M. KNIGHT.
An Engineer appointed under the said Act.
Vestry of the Hamlet of Mile End Old Town.
Vestry Hall, Bancroft Road, Mile End Road, E.
9th October, 1889.
To the Vestry of the Hamlet of Mile End Old Town.
Gentlemen,
re No. 2, Albion Court, Redman's Road.
I have considered the report of the Medical Officer of
Health referred to me at your meeting, held on the 25th
day of September last, in respect of the house and premises,
known as No. 2, Albion Court, under the provisions
of the Artizans and Labourers' Dwellings' Acts,
1868.
The complaint contained in the said report of the
Medical Officer of Health is
That there is not sufficient light.
That there is not sufficient ventilation either to the
living rooms or sleeping apartments on the ground
floor.
The remedy for the complaint contained in the said
report of the Medical Officer of Health is to construct a
new window in the ground floor back room and carry
the same to the underside of the ceiling of the said
rooms. To insert ventilating air bricks at the front and
back of the house.
If these works be executed it will not in my opinion be
necessary to demolish the house in order to remove the
complaint contained in the report of the Medical Officer
of Health.
I am, Gentlemen,
Your obedient servant,
(Signed) JNO. M. KNIGHT,
An Engineer appointed to report on the above named
property under the said Act.
