Macadamised Roads.
The unusually wet seasons through which we have
passed have kept up the cost of road repairs in addition
to the increased traffic which is put upon them. You
have now agreed to use Kentish rag stone in lieu of
Hertfordshire ballast, which stone makes a good road
if rolled in with any binding material, and although I
do not anticipate any saving for the current year, yet
in succeeding years the cost of repairs will be reduced
by the adoption of this material.
The following table will show the cost of each material
for the past three years.
