On November 30th a man, lodging at Rowton House,
Hammersmith, where several cases had occurred, on visiting
a medical practitioner in Fulham was found to be suffering
from small pox, having been ill some four or five days, and
it was subsequently ascertained that on the previous day,
November 29th, when the rash was abundant, he had been
working as a plasterer in Fulham, and the following are known
to have been infected by him:—
Five women who had been working, on November 29th, at a
laundry in Jervis road where he was repairing a floor.
A woman residing in Goodson road close to the laundry in
Jervis road.
A barman at a public-house which he visited.
Three fellow-workmen, one of whom lived in Willesden.
In one of the latter cases the nature of the illness was
unrecognised, and nine other cases have resulted this year.
The following table gives particulars of the cases notified in
Fulham.
