Insurance of Infants.
Certificates under the Friendly Societies' Acts were issued
in respect of 391 children under the age of 5 years, 40 per cent.
of the children dying at this age being insured.
Mortality at School Aye.
At the Age of 5 to 15 years which is approximately the
school period of life, there were 101 deaths or 4.6 per cent. of
those at all ages, representing a rate of 3.6 per 1,000 of those
living at that age.
Mortality at Adolescence.
Between the ages of 15 and '25 years, 85 deaths or 3.9 per
cent. of the total number were recorded, the rate of mortality
being 3 5 per 1,000.
Mortality at Maturity.
671 or 30.9 per cent. of the deaths occurred between the
ages of 25 and 65, the mortality at that age period being at the
rate of 10.8 per 1,000.
Mortality at Decline.
At the age of 65 and upwards there were 344 deaths or 15.9
per cent. of those at all ages, corresponding to a deathrate
of 78.6.
Seasonal Mortality.
The mortality in the four quarters of the year was as
under: —
