The increase of 2d in the £ on the General Rate is brought about by the
many works and improvements effected by the vestry during the past year,
and the purchase of additional horses and rolling stock, necessitating greater
cartage expenses, &c , in addition to the liabilities of the previous year, which
had to be provided for out of this Rate, as well as the large increase in the
School Board Rate of over £3,300, and thereby causing the issuing of precepts
for a larger amount than in 1889-90
