On the 5th November, 1890, at the request of the Vestry, a statement was
prepared and submitted showing that from October 31st, 1888, to April, 1889,
nine Roads were apportioned at an average cost of 12s. 4d. per foot, and
contracts for fourteen new Streets carried out; the total cost being
£6,854 12s. 10d., or an average of £489 12s. 4d. a Road, and the average
cost of the Roads per foot frontage was just inside 10s. a foot, being 9s. 11¾d.
There were also sewer apportionments made during the same period, but the
particulars of them were not given as the return had special reference to New
Streets.
