Further Letter to Vestry Clerk as to Supplemental List, and request-
23 October, 1888. ing interview with Churchwardens and Overseers.
Dear Sir,
Your letter reporting that this list is still incomplete was read
to the Union Assessment Committee, at their meeting this morning,
when I was directed to communicate with you at once upon the
matter.
It appears to the Committee that this long delay in the preparation
of this List is likely to lead to considerable difficulties, and to place
the Parish of Fulham and the Committee in a very serious position.
They are therefore anxious to confer with the Churchwardens and
Overseers upon the matter, and also with regard to the valuation of
the various Advertising Hoardings, which the Overseers have inserted
in the Provisional List now under consideration, and in which some
legal complications may probably arise. For the purpose of affording
an opportunity for discussing these questions with the Parish
Officers, the Committee have specially adjourned their meeting until
Thursday next, at 12 o'clock, when they trust the Churchwardens
and Overseers will be able to make it convenient to attend.
Yours faithfully,
(Signed) T. A. MARSH,
C. J. Foakes, Esq. Clerk to the Committee.

1 Nov., 1888. Letter to the Local Government Board in reply to thtir enquiry
respecting delay in delivery of Supplemental Lists.
My Lords and Gentlemen,
I am directed by the Assessment Committee of this Union to
state, in reply to your Board's letter of the 7th instant, that the
delay in delivery to Mr. Jebb of the Valuation List for the Parish
of Fulham arose in consequence of Mr, Foakes, the Vestry Clerk of
