STREET CLEANSING.
The Vestry have purchased during the year one sanding machine, at a
cost of £35; two road scrapers, at a cost of £28; one dust cart, £18;
and one slop cart, £19: making the total number in stock, 3 sanding
machines, 4 rotary brooms, 2 road scrapers, 11 dust carts, 20 slop carts,
10 tip carts, and 19 water vans.
The sanding machines, rotary brooms, and road scrapers are very
valuable and useful implements, and it would be an economy for the
Vestry to purchase double the present number. The road scrapers are
especially useful in clearing away snow.
