Gas is supplied for Street Lighting in this parish by the Brentford
Gas Company, and the Gas Light and Coke Company, the
former lighting the Hammersmith Road, and the latter the remainder
of the parish. On the 25th August, 1886, the Works and
General Purposes Committee of the Vestry appointed Dr. Cooney,
and Messrs. Hutchinson and Davey, a Sub-Committee, to confer
and obtain any information on the subject of the supply of gas by
meter they should think fit, and to bring up a report thereon to
that Committee. On the 15th December, 1886, following, the
Clerk submitted the Draft of the Gas Lighting Sub-Committee's
report, the consideration of which was ordered to stand over, the
report in the meantime to be circulated amongst the members of
the Works and General Purposes Committee. At the meeting of
that Committee held on the 26th January, 1887, it was resolved
that the Gas Lighting Sub-Committee's report be received, and
presented to the Vestry, but that the discussion be further adjourned.
