Properties Owned by the Camberwell Borough Council.
Grove Vale Estate—Dulwich.
This freehold estate was acquired in 1902-3, and comprises
7 houses and 174 self-contained flats.
Peckham Estate.
This estate comprises 4 freehold tenement houses in Downes
Place, Peckham, and was acquired in 1904.
Camberwell Estate—Hollington Street Area.
This estate was principally acquired in the years 1901-6,
and comprises 406 tenements. The property is in the main old
working-class tenement dwellings.
Housing (Assisted) Schemes. Sunray and Newlands Estates.
These estates were built under the Housing Act, 1919, and
comprises 40 flats and 252 houses on the Sunray Estate ; and 16
flats and 134 houses on the Newlands Estate, Peckham Rye.
In addition to the above properties the Council purchased in
1921 two houses in Barry Road.
