various gentlemen, decided to have a report from Mr. E.
Manville on tlie subject, and the report is now under
consideration.
Costermongers,
Peckham Rye.
In July last, the Vestry received a petition
signed by 17 persons, asking that certain costermongers and
others, should be allowed to erect cocoa nut shies on the
south end of Peckham Rye, alongside the fence running
from the Homestead to the Newlands, on Bank Holidays.
This was referred to your Committee, who caused a letter
to be addressed to the County Council, in favour of granting
such request. A letter has now been received from the
Clerk of the County Council, stating that the Parks and
Open Spaces Committee has had the matter under consideration
and do not consider it desirable to grant the
permission sought for.
Your Committee resolved:—That the applicants be
informed of this decision.
This was approved by Vestry, 19th October, 1892.
