purposes near to the locality of collection, at agreed prices—
359 loads only being deposited at Free Shoots.
The dust barging contract was at the rate of 2s. 8d.
per dust-cart load. The removal by Rail is at 2s. 6d. per
load, to which an additional 3d. is paid for delivery
into and trimming the Railway-trucks, the Shoot at "Cold
Blow" is at 1s. 6d. per load.
It will be seen from the foregoing that Free Shoots are
now all but extinct, and, in fact, nearly also all Shoots within
this Parish; the cost of this work must therefore naturally
tend to increase.
CART HORSE PARADE.
The Vestry contributed as hitherto their annual subscription
of two guineas to the London Cart Horse Parade
Society.
Your Committee submitted four horses in competition
at the Annual Parade on Whit Monday, at which each took
a First Class Prize. The Drivers were awarded ten shillings
each by the Society, and also a diploma.
STEAM ROLLERS.
Your Committee insured the Boilers of the three Steam
Road Rollers against accident from explosion, with the
National Boiler Insurance Company in one group, in the
total sum of £1,500, at a premium of £9 15s. 3d. per
annum.
