Question.
Answer.
Should they continue as
now, or should some
other accommodation be
provided, and, if so,
where ?
No complaints are now received
as to the costermongers
in the public
streets. In my opinion
the costermongers and
the public would not go
to any special market;
they prefer to do all
their marketing in public
thoroughfares.
Would there be any difficulty
in moving the
stalls from their present
standing to any specially
provided place ?
Yes; they would not go
willingly.
Are the tradesmen having
shops adjacent to the
present unauthorised
markets in favour of retaining
or removing these
markets ?
Yes; no complaints are now
received from tradesmen
under the existing arrangement
which is a
compromise after a conference
between the
tradesmen and costermongers.
Any other information or
suggestions relating to
the unauthorised markets
of the district.
