RE NOTICE BOARDS & OTHER PROJECTIONS
OVERHANGING PUBLIC FOOTPATHS.
There being a large number of projections throughout
the Parish fixed at inconvenient heights, obstructing the
light and air, and in many cases fixed in a very questionable
manner, your Committee instructed your Surveyor
to prepare a Schedule of the projections and report thereon,
the following Report was received, approved, and
adopted by the Vestry:—

A Schedule of the above has been prepared by each
District Superintendent, which shew that these erections
are much on the increase in this Parish, and, I may add,
also in the Metropolis generally.
In conference with several parties who have erected
the above, it appears to be their general opinion that this
mode of advertisement is really a necessity, and, as Ratepayers,
they feel that the Vestry should not interfere unless
there are very strong reasons for so doing.
I am not inclined to recommend the entire removal of
these projections, but rather, as per enactment, "to regulate
or remove them as may be deemed necessary by the
Vestry,” control would then be had over all present and
future elections, without distinct permission having been
