purpose of purchasing the freehold land situate at the rear
of houses facing Cainberwell Green (East side). The above
loan to be secured by the Rates for the Relief of the Poor of
the Parish.
In accordance with the Act, the Local Government
Board were applied to for their sanction, and ordered a
Local Inquiry to be held as to the position of this site.
This Inquiry was held by the Board's Inspector at the
Vestry Hall, and evidence in support of the site was received
; and subsequently the sanction of the Local Government
was given to the loan of £3,000 for the purchase of
this site.
The Commissioners have now provided for Baths for
the Dulwich portion of the parish, and Baths and Washhouses
for that of Cainberwell.
